Raindrops in a Barrel

[The picture is not mine, I found it on the internet.]

I ate a soapy chocolate bar last night. It made me smile, and made my tongue curl in weird shapes.... then my brother and I drove home.

[Following a conversation about journals]

"Time is weird to think about. The past, present, future."

"What past?"

"Oh, any past, personal past, history past. Just past. 'Cuase, you wouldn't think a day would make a difference. But there are three hundred sixty-five days in a year. A lot can happen in a year. But then again, a year doesn't make much difference in the grand scheme of things.

Have I Learned To Be Content?

Philippians 4:11 - Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

I was thinking about this today, sometimes I think I have learned to be content and sometimes not.

Some things I worry about: My future, how I look, our country, my brother; who, when, or even if, I am going to be married. Will I be a good wife, a good mother? Does my worrying mean I doubt God? Sometimes I am not content with my family, or myself even. I wish I was better.

But then again, here are some things I do not worry about: My future, how I look, our country, my brother; who, when, or even if, I am going to be married. Will I be a good wife, a good mother? I know that I do not doubt God. I am content with my family and could wish for no different, I am content with myself, and I do the best I can.

One Day, I Was Born

One day, I was born. Soon after I made my first trip to church. Ever since then, like a faithful hen laying its one egg everyday, I've returned nearly every week - only missing a few Sundays because of sickness. In addition to that for many years we came to Wednesday night church as well. Ever since I was baby I was surrounded by a Christian environment. My life was saturated with it. Christian parents, Christian family, Christian friends, Christian music, Christian books, Christian summer camps, Christian movies; reading and understanding the King James Version of the Bible is second nature to me, I have a Christian thought pattern, I see through the eyes of one redeemed by Christ.

I Am Going To Miss....

So I haven't said much since announcing our move. Things have been busy here at home. Packing, cleaning, sorting, paperwork, occasional waves of amazement and overwhelment, packing, working, worrying about how many books we can take, and oh, did I mention packing? Let me clarify, almost every possible thing is out of the bag and only some things are in, what is in, we are not sure if it is going to stay in. Packing.

We're Moving!

[

The majority of this post is a copy of my facebook status today]

Well, I was going to make a blog post about this, but I'm just not up to the task of creating something well written and trying to explain everything. Simply put, our family is moving to Belize. If you've kept up with my blog and my own and my family's facebook status's or know us intimately you might have an idea why. If not, well I don't have time or know how to explain all the details.

Solar Oven!

Our camera has been lost for a while but my brother found it yesterday when he was cleaning out the truck. We are very glad to have it back and now I have no reason to not post about the solar oven I made. I've got pictures and everything. :) So, here it is!

First I looked around online and found a blue print for one. I printed out several pages...

Tales of a Little Munchkin

What does one say? There's nothing but the usual, what I normally say. We've been busy!

What have we been busy with? Well I could tell you about the new solar oven I made, or the garden my brother is doing, or the fun time we had when my older brother came to visit, or the shed my dad and little brother made, or how big the baby is growing and what a bundle of joyous trouble he is, or about the chickens. Maybe I could tell you about my recent endeavours in getting a lot of my school done, (I did two days worth of math yesterday. ;) my hopes of graduating soon, or about the recent swarm of butterflies that have taken over our place, or suppose I informed you of the monkey we have living in our woods. What would you say to that? I'll tell you what the boy at church said, he insisted we did not have a monkey in our woods, monkeys don't live in the Mid West don't ya know? But how would he know? He wasn't there, he didn't hear it chattering angrily at our dogs or see the blood spots they came back with. Maybe it got out of the zoo. Just a thought here.

Yes all that has been happening and much more. More than I could tell you. But for right now I am just going to tell you about something small. Something that made me smile the other day.
